Canada’s Conservative Party secured a significant victory in a special election in central Toronto, winning a seat traditionally held by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party since 1993. Conservative candidate Don Stewart was elected to the House of Commons with 42% of the vote, narrowly defeating Liberal candidate Leslie Church, who garnered just over 40%.
