In Kalki 2898 AD, Deepika Padukone portrays a pregnant character named Sumathi, blending her real-life pregnancy with her on-screen persona. Rana Daggubati continued to tease, saying, "I can see you are still in character." To this, Deepika, with a gleam in her eye, replied, "I mean, the movie went on for three years, so I thought why not just a few months more?"
